The Sixpence is the English coin Brian always used instead of the usual plectrum, to get that special touch and unique sound.
Sixpence 2005: the new version of the six-penny coin was made upon the occasion of the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour.
The coin bears Brian May’s face.

RUSTIN'S PLASTIC COATING


|
Rustin’s plastic coating is the original lacquer Brian May used to finish off his guitar; it’s a two-part plastic lacquer, applied by brush or sprayed on, needing 3 or 4 coats to be given on the same day after approximately one hour from each coating, hardening it as follows: 1 part hardener to 4 parts plastic coating.
For instance: in a glass or polythene container (NEVER USE METAL CONTAINERS) with a plastic spoon, mix: 1 spoonful of hardener to 4 spoonfuls of plastic coating, leaving it to dry properly in an airy place for 3/4 days.
